“Yes. As Europe is losing its competitive edge compared to economic actors, such as China and the US and is falling behind in the global innovation race, we must step up our efforts. We need to invest more in strategic sectors among others for the digital and climate transitions. Currently, the amount of R&I investment that Horizon Europe represents in Europe’s total R&I investment is too small. Renew Europe wants the new European Commission following the elections to be an ‘Investment Commission’ and hold the Commission and responsible Commissioner(s) accountable. Moreover, Renew Europe will keep on demanding for sufficient R&I investment in the budget guidelines and MFF.”
